South Surrey residents John Banovich and Alison Soroka have created a production company called Smiles and Laughter Entertainment, through which the duo aims to spread awareness about domestic abuse. 

 The film will be shown at http://endingabusemedia.com/ and will include contact numbers for people who may be needing help to end domestic violence in their own families. 

Alison Soroka, herself a domestic abuse survivor, is hoping her new short film will raise awareness and assist efforts to help victims. 

When it comes to ending domestic violence and abuse, South Surrey social activist and film producer Alison Soroka knows full well that silence is not golden.

“Silence can be evil – it can be destructive,” said Soroka, organizer of an inaugural charity event, designed to share information and spark dialogue on practical ways to achieve this goal.
